What is the 15% "Tax/Expendables"??

Your total cost for the rental includes the following:

- Rent

- 15% "taxes and expendables. In Dare County, we have two taxes required on short-term housing. Sales tax is charged on the amount of rent (rate varies, but usually is between 7% and 8%). In addition, Occupancy tax is also charged. Occupancy tax is 5%. The remaining 2-3% helps to cover the cost of "expendables". These are the many items I provide, so you don't have to bring them. They include trash bags, paper towels, toilet papers, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, light bulbs, and all the cleaning supplies.

- $100 REFUNDABLE security deposit. I try to return the security deposit within a few days of when you check out, but off-season, it may be a week, simply because I sometimes forget! But, I'm not offended by a call or email....

There are no additional fees or hidden costs.
